Dad in the SeaBees, 1943-46

My father served in World War 2 with the Navy SeaBees.

Here is a video that gives you a taste of his adventure in the South Pacific.

My father passed away at home on February 7, 2015.

    1. Hello Mike! Thanks for your comment. Dad left me his copy of "Bitter Bellies" and his mug can be seen in the group photo of CBMU 573, Platoon Five, Fourth Row, Benjamin G. Simons. We also have an old photo taken in panorama, of all units together before shipping out of Gulfport. Also Dad's Honorable Discharge and his printed program from the Discharge Ceremony held at Norman, Oklahoma.

  2. Thanks for returning my call. Locating you was a shot in the dark but paid off obviously. I grew up listening to the tales of the South Pacific told to me by my grandfather Garland W. Mitchell, Platoon One.
